on mac it does.

  Nice! That was the same website I used when I first found out about special characters.
But there is a much easier way, especially for people with a laptop:
Go to Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map.
Then you choose the font and scroll down to find all the special characters. Simple! =)
