Topic, Stuck about f9 api!!!!

  I have resorted to doing it for him whilst he tells me what to do, unless he gets flash and I teach him actionscript

  I tried to teach AK C++ and it sorta ended up with him hating it XD

  the only bits of things I can script are basic things in turbopascal, probabely the easiest scripting language...

  XNA is not quite the same as ActionScript, but it would be a pretty good place to start. It would teach you a lot about programming in general, then you would find it a lot easier to move onto ActionScript after you had mastered writing XNA games in C#. It's quite a good idea actually.

  I agree, the best way to learn programming is from another programmer. The next best way is through good programming books. The worst way to learn, in my opinion, is through the internet, it's full of confusion and bias and contradictions, and should only be used as a learning resource once you actually understand what you are doing and what everybody is talking about.

  Does he know how to actionscript? If so learn it off him. Practice at it and slowly gain experience over a couple of years THEN make a game.

  Oh, Dont even try then, Ive been trying for ages, your 10. You cant just MAKE the game, you cant JUST LEARN actionscript. Its about 50,000 times more complicated than you think it is, even if you think its hard already. You wont be able to make a game until you have years of actionscript experience, Get the idea of making a game out of your head, cause it wont happen.
