Welcome back Pineappledude, great to see you coming back, do you know how to download Pale Moon? One of us can give you the link, it's quick and easy.

Hey Kalina, I'm john96, I signed up for BL 2 years ago, August 11th will be my 2-year anniversary. How are you doing man?
Coolguy52 3 months ago
Pretty good. Site has been fairly dead at the moment but good to see that you're back :o

Over 2 years since I logged into BL is crazy, how's everyone been?
chris3000 4 months ago
Wow, I haven't touched this game in almost 2 years, I've been sidetracked with Gran Turismo 7 on my ps4.

I believe the majority of people can become good at this game. Just about playing it enough. Until the start of 2018 I was just outside of the top 50 without a single official highscore ever, believe it or not.

I wonder if I would be good at this game. I'm doubting myself as I see there are many skilled people here that have played this game for many years.
chris3000 5 months ago
Yes, I'm still hoping to reach 8 million one day, I just have to learn patience with this game.

On this game? Got a couple of levels I want to make and then beat and a few highscores I want to get. My long time goals of each 100,000 barrier have kind of lost any chance of happening. I think that all the highscores totalled doesn't even reach 9,300,000 - and although 9,250,000 is possible, it's a bit too extreme for me right now... maybe if a couple of headjumps were used but I feel that's a bit pointless. Mostly I just play the Global Tournament to improve my scores overall.

I didn't even know Supermario was back, xD. So what are your goals for this year?
Coolguy52 5 months ago
I haven't played this game too much in the past couple of months. I noticed SuperMario came back and played for a bit and got a few highscores, and I tried a bit to reclaim them but I think if I can it will take a while, both of the ones I found were pretty strong.

I really miss this game, I'm pre-occupied with other things right now to have time to play jg2. Hope you all are doing okay and are in good health, :)

thx for the help, and which file for the Wayback Machine to get the working version of Flash that wasn't affected by the Time Bomb works?
chris3000 10 months ago
It's great to see you back and still around here Kirby, I haven't seen you in a long time. Late merry Christmas everyone!

  Welcome back Kirby!

  Hey there ^^

Hi! You need an old version of Flash and a supporting web browser to do it. The most used one for BL is Pale Moon. In terms of getting the old version of Flash, the best way might be to join the BL discord to find it as a pinned message. I don't exactly remember how to set it all up as it was ages ago but that how I did it.

Heya everyone! How do you play Jump Gear 2 on here if the Flash plug-in isn't supported?
chris3000 1 year ago
Well I'm sorry you lost all your level data, what a dissappointment. Well at least you're back and in good shape. We were worried about you, :)

Hey Chris & Coolguy ! I'm doing very good since... that many years ago (job + family + cat). I don't think I will hang out for long on JG2 as the editor is not as good as I remember + I'm so bad at the game. However, Blockoban and Moonlight seem a little bit more entertaining and can be easier to play. So I might post new levels there every now and then.
Coolguy52 1 year ago
That's pretty sad, but welcome back! I think that's due to it being a local save so even if you have the same PC, the death of flash probably killed them all.
chris3000 1 year ago
Welcome back Magic! Are you planning on returning here too, I don't play JG2 that much anymore, as I have many other things to occupy my life. Plus my health/family comes first. But glad you are doing okay. How have you been coming along?
magic7 1 year ago
Oh I found a way to play again but all the level edits I created and not published are lost :(
chris3000 1 year ago
I miss playing this game, I just have too much on my plate. It was so easy when I was a teen. When you're an adult, life gets tougher. I learned that from experience.

I don’t know if there’s any great general tips for getting quicker in this game. A lot of it comes down to playing a lot. In general I think consistency is the most underrated factor in this game. Do not try anything that has a stupidly low success rate if you expect to be able to demonstrate good skill. Learning to be able to consistently do things slowly will allow you to push for a more skilful and quicker run with more ease.

In general, to attack a level you want to plan out your strategy:
Which tricks will you use?
What does an ideal run look like?
What is an ideal score with such an ideal run (this estimation will improve over playing)?
When you have planned the level, you want to build up to it by starting off with a more basic strategy and slowly introducing tricks. It is highly unlikely that you will be able to master any of these levels within 5-10 minutes, it may take many sessions to master one level to begin with, but I assure you it will get easier.

I found that even when I had mastered only a few levels (both Orbitals, Swirls and Curls highscores etc.) - I had improved from barely scratching 7M to 8M being a reasonable objective. From 8M to 9M was more of the same but I should point out that all three of those highscores I mentioned had been improved further (41,841, 20,090, 40,099 to 42,055, 20,529, 41,343). The reality is a perfect run is never doable, and if you can still improve your best scores, I think it is fully worth it - not because of the few hundred point you may gain, but to maximise your skill and potential!

If you want more specific tips for a particular level, feel free to let me know. Hope this helps!

I don't come here often, this game is not enjoyable for me, most of the time I get trainer mode, so I'm not very skilled here. @CG52: can you give me some advice on how to be a faster Jump Gear driver?
chris3000 1 year ago
Well I think it's time for me to surrender here, I will very seldomly play this game, just don't have the patience anymore. Plus taking care of my health/family is important and first and foremost. So my time is more valuable now.
Coolguy52 2 years ago
I am working on the odd level - but I feel like it will get a bit boring if only my levels get released as they're pretty tricky and all of a very similar style. It'd be very cool to see other levels - and I'm always happy to evaluate any. If I miss some, please do PM me. (If it's been week or at the least 3 days - please let me know!)
