  people commonly click somewhere else while looking for Esc...

clicking somewhere else will deactivate the use of the keyboard to the game (it is like that with all flash games) but clicking on the game will reactivate it. so try clicking on the game before pressing Esc, but thats probably not the problem. still try it, though

It's impossible to have a keyboard that DOESN'T have an ESC key, as far as I know.
