Just don't make so long intro's anymore.
How ironically, I prefer the first ones to the last, maybe it has to do with the fact they are less boring.

  Now, I couldn't tell what was wrong with the troops so I lowered every switch by one box (grid size 16)

I also added assorted clouds to the trail. xD

I thought the checkpoint would help lay off the long flight.

I will add more BG and check on the people.

  Did you also found out the intro is quite long ?
You should add things to look at, that will make the flight more enjoyable.
Also some of the guys don't die properly.
