  Whit 18038 pieces of steel bolted together whit 2,5 million bolts, weighing in at approx. 7 million kilos, there's no wonder the french thought it would sink into the ground.

One thing that's really fasinating though is that, if you put a sylinder around the Eiffel Tower, the air inside will weigh more than the tower itself.

  They also said it was impossible because it would sink in the ground.
Others thought it would fall over, so yeah, they really hated it.

  When the Eiffel Tower was first made, the French HATED it because it was an "eyesore" in France's beauty. :/
