THE BACKGROUND DOTS ADD LAG. GET RID OF THE BACKGROUND DOTS TO REDUCE LAG. BACKGROUND DOTS DO NOT EFFECT TEXT AND, SINCE YOU'VE ALREADY SET THE EFFECT, THE BACKGROUND DOTS ARE DISPOSABLE.

@MIF you go down through the numbered holes, in the order of the numbers

Tier 1 (first number) has 0-9, so you enter the first number, Tier 2 (second number) has 1-9, enter the second number, Tier 3 (third number) has 2-9, enter the third number. :/
