  This is a pretty simple circuit. There's a powered wire which activates the metal plate above the finish. On the other end of the wire is a mouse sensor, which gets activated when you step on it (with your cursor). When you stepped on it, the powered wire will be deactivated after a short delay (the cause of the delay is the tiny power node). And when the powered wire is deactivated, the metal plate will be deactivated, too.

So it seems like that you have to wait the power on and step on the first ice?

  There's a mouse sensor under the first ice tile. When you step on it the power will be turned off again.
