  I usually crouch as soon as I hit the hook part, this helps me evade the lethal. Doing this as soon as you can may help too.

However, you can try and hook it the opposite way (with the left wheel), as this will completely avoid the lethal - although it is tricky to pull off.

  How do you master the first part? Whenever I press the space bar to hook to the curvy green line I always hit the lethal line.
