  @drstereos, OMG is simply noting that "dummy blocks" (extra blocks that are not necessary to the solution and make the level feel more sloppy and less focused towards a particular solution or trick) are to be avoided. Changing the block colors wouldn't change the number of them, so the problem stands.

Note that "extra blocks" are not necessarily the same as "dummy blocks". Sometimes having extra blocks is good for adding variety to a level or for making a level that would otherwise be extremely hard a bit easier. However, they're generally not good in easy difficulty levels or in large quantities.

What you could try to do to make the level a bit better is to reduce the number of green blocks or add links to them. Alternatively, you could add other green goals.

You could also use the idea OMG had--you would just have to place the green on the sticky to start.

  would it be better to make two of the green blocks white?

  I know the extra greens are to make the design symetrical but extra blocks detract from the level. Maybe a sticky pad in the center and only one green.
