I had a look through, and that is quite weird. I doubt I can get to that point in any case because that's pretty far into the level and I've never come close... Thanks for the hints in any case! I agree that the thumbnail looks the same as the way you solved it, which is very interesting.

Gave up on attaching pictures after failing every single thing I could think of, so I've just made a shared Google album instead which I'm hoping you'll be able to see. I don't think the 'Hint' is much of a hint really but hey ho, didn't wanna make it too easy. :D

I think the old level was replaced with something that didn’t require the glitch if I remember correctly, I’d have to have another look though. Unfortunately I forgot how you attach your own images to a post.

Yeah you're probably right tbh, I think I just jumped the gun in my assumption. I guess we can give him the benefit of the doubt. :D

He does have an accepted Magnet Trick level though which I never solved, is this the same level updated or a different one entirely? I also tried Spinning and immediately saw what you meant, definitely not gonna bother with that one! xD

I think the difference with Jump Gear glitches is that they're quite fun to perform, plus the fact that they've been around for over a decade and a half in such an advanced flash game, so you can pretty much let them slide. I'd also lean towards allowing levels with intended glitches. I mean who doesn't love launching across a level into total oblivion? :P

I'll see what I can do about a hint as well, gonna have to find the syntax for it though unless someone can remind me how to attach a pic in a post? :)

I've never experienced this secret chain glitch before.

I doubt it’s intentionally sneaking to be honest, the chain glitch may have been known since 2018 and agreed between the discord that it shouldn’t be done, along with any other glitch. I’m not sure suhangha would have been aware of this fact in any case, though his ‘Magnet Trick’ was the first known glitch and not accepted. I wonder what I’d do about levels in Jump Gear if they require a glitch, because they exist (I don’t think head jumping but the launch jump is definitely required in the odd level) and so by precedent I should accept them. They’re obviously two different games but it’s still interesting to compare.

I think only long as it can be solved glitchless then it should stand, but if not it’s a bit cheeky so I don't think it should be allowed. For example Spinning (Jellify) the glitch is highly annoying here meaning that you cannot undo at all or you can’t solve the level. Even though it doesn't help much here this level is 'fine' although completely rage inducing xD

I believe that you used the glitch and I don't think you should show your solution. I think that a hint is fine but to see your full solution seems a bit cheat-y so I'll assume there is only a solution known with glitches for now until someone suggests otherwise.

EDIT: Chris, try Spinning (Jellify), blow up some blocks and then undo a few moves, you’ll get the gist of the glitch. There was a level with about 10 separate glitches but I don't know if I should bring that level back up...

I thought the same, although Simon may not have realised when he accepted the level. I went to resolve it today, did the exact same sequence and got confused as to why it wouldn't work this time. I don't think there's a glitchless solution because numbered blocks in a setup like this usually mean there's a specific way you have to complete the level, as I'm sure you know, especially in one like this where destroying something you need is the result of pretty much every move. And I just don't think it's a coincidence my solution matches the thumbnail either. I think suhanga snuck this in and managed to get away with it. I'm not too sure what Simon's views on the glitch are though.

I could show you how I did it or just the part that's affected by the glitch if you like? I know solution sharing is an unwritten sin of puzzle games, but I feel like this could be an exception.

I mean if the chain glitch is required to beat the level then I'm not sure it would be accepted under normal circumstances. If there was a solution with no glitch then it would be fine for someone to solve it with the glitch but I always assumed levels that were impossible without glitches weren't allowed.

Well I know I'm not ready for it yet.

Thanks chris, although I just realised that this level is actually a bit sneaky. The chain links can glitch out all over the place if you undo quite a lot, and I didn't notice before but the level is only solvable if you somehow manage to get the glitch on the completed greens (which you can barely see in the thumbnail, you can also see another glitched chain under yellow too) otherwise one of the immovable blocks will be in the way of solving the next colour. It's still a really nice level though, just giving this warning to anyone trying to solve it who thinks they might have the solution but can't seem to finish off the last few moves. :)

Wow man, kudos to you for being the only one to solve this insane level!!

I don't know where my sudden burst of solving crazy levels has come from, maybe the long hiatus has given me a fresh mind of sorts. So this puts us collectively at 3/4 of the Disaster Wave series solved, I wonder if anyone can beat Disaster Wave 3? It seems absolutely ridiculous and so does 4 tbh, so huge kudos to Simon for that one...
