  Hey everyone. (Long time no see... about 18 months)

Posting here to answer a few questions so that it's clear where this game is going, and so no question remains unanswered thanks to my inactivity (that's the aim anyway).

  I love this game definitely.

But I found a glitch. Sometimes while i'm playing a level all of a sudden the wait icon will appear and then I can't do anything after that. I wish I had a video or picture to show proof of this.

  The link in the first post will be updatedonce I am happy with the game. It will contain a standard one row level.

[Edit] I figured out how to remove the Award "Repetetive Basher!" from the user profiles. Rather than de-activate the achievement, I had to remove it. Our experience points gained from the achievement should be deducted when the next profile update occurs (12:00 GMT)?

  Thanks for the feedback Treazer!

This was a default level, all colours have been implemented, along with a brick which you have to hit 'x' times, as well as the railball brick. All of these bricks can be any colour represented by a Hex value.

The graphics will be done for later, as you have said, and more features will be added. However, the physics and engine seem okay, and that is why I need the feedback.

  Well, there's not much to say as there's not much yet. It's a simple game, but what the game already has looks good.
Scoring systems seems fine, the collision and the controls also do. I couldn't spot any bugs so far. :)

The paddle and the black bricks look the same though (except the size). The graphics in general could be improved, because they are kinda boring, but that's for later, I think.

To be suiting for BL, it needs way more to allow many levels and to be fun though. There's a brick breaker you should take as an example, but I forgot the name. I know gameinsky played it a lot and you will most likely know it as well.
Take this and Astro Breaker can be an amazing game! You seem to have gained the skills to accomplish something of the like.

Oh, and for the testers: test the file in Manufan's bl_shared folder instead of the file in the Astro Breaker folder.

  Chris, you can be a tester on this old game. It will be a while before I upload the new one. :)

That is in the bl_shared folder if you want to look GIS. The physics seems solid enough, but any suggestions are welcome. :)

Chris, I have added you. The game is glitchy in places and I could've ironed the glitches out, but to tell the honest truth, I could not locate the file! :O (xD)

  @ chris this game is still early in development and I'm not sure for how long it's going to be in a "basic state" so to speak.

It's a brickbasher, so it shouldn't be hard to come up with suggestions without even having played the game.

  Time moves really fast... I'm now nearly in Year 9, In 1 year time I will have started all my GCSE's (Very Important Examinations) Year 9 will be hard for me... And I won't have much time...

  I've changed Astro Breaker standalone on my computer so now everything is produced by code, whether it be external in classes or on the Actions panel. :)

From now on it's a case of adding new bricks and coding their behaviours, which shouldn't occupy too much time. However I'm going back to school a week tomorrow and it will be my last year before college, and I might not have a lot of time, but I'll try whenever I can to take this game forward! :)

  I got Railball Bricks to work! Hopefully once I finish the physics engine this game can get underway!

  I'll be inactive until Tuesday, where I'll then remain a bit less active than I was this week, but don't worry, the game is still going ahead!

- Physics Improved, still not up to scratch.
- Railball Added, although improvements should be made.
- Combo Rules changed, capped at x5 also.

As for programming, it depends. Check the Sharing AS3 classes thread for FlashDevelop, a free tool used to create Actionscript files to make games. However, I don't use this, I use Flash itself, an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) costing £500 w/o discount. I got mine for £100 roughly due to Student/Teacher, but I would advise not to take this option unless you are considering programming in the future.

Just pm me any ideas you have or share them on the ideas thread.

As for access to the game, I'm still squashing a few preliminary bugs before I can release it via a Dropbox link.

  Hey manufan, what a time for me to return to BonusLevel after such a long break!

I'm glad to see that you've decided to revive this idea again, however sadly I'm still no good to you in the aspect of programming and designing, but it would be a pleasure if I could still be of use coming up with fresh new concepts for the game. I would love it if we could keep in touch to share new ideas as I'm still as passionate about this game as I was originally. And maybe, just maybe, this time you could teach me how to programme a little so I can contribute a bit more.

  I meant the number of the multiplier, sorry for not making myself clear. I agree with you Treazer, 5 should probably be the max.

Btw, when you say position the ball well, that's exactly what I aim for this game to be, a game based on a player's skill.

  If you mean the capped number of bricks for the maximum combo, I'd say 10, because you can get this if you 'position' the ball well in some levels. You could then even get more than 10.

If you mean the capped number of the multiplier for the maximum combo, I'd say 5, because multiplying with 10 is too much, I think.
