Though there should be an overview, Flixel is a game library. Basically, it does all the tedious coding so that you can focus on making your game look and feel cool... I think. :/

  Your choice of course, I just find it morally wrong to rip other games sprites (Ahroo, DY and Sillius been a great help so far with the sprites for my game. Marc tried too :D), but if you see it otherwise, that's how it's going to be.

  Copyrighted stuff is only "illegal" when you charge money for the game. As long as the game is free, it can contain as many copyrighted sprites and characters as you would want it to...

  Ok, ok. Fixed it. Anyway, if I were you, I would focus on the coding part. Just make the blocks a solid color, the player a basic shape, and the background plain white, and then update as you go along, and make your own textures.
