Topic, Game "BLockoban"

  It's nice to see you back making levels YGG4, Blockoban has just not been the same ever since Flash was taken away. Because of that we have lost a lot of old famous members here that made BB shine with activity.

I miss lmr's unique creations and murat's mind blowers, Toughman made some amazing ones too, not to mention CD, Monty, Jos, Simon and oldmtnguy/oldmanrob. I miss them.

I hope everyone is looking forward to Christmas and the new year, 2024.

  Thanks for updating Golden Angle (BLockoban) and for scoring on your levels. Sorry, I have been obliged to reset all scores of Golden Angle. Due to a bug, I cannot reset a single score any more.

  Once you told me you solved Helpful Angles in a few moves I retested and found that solution too lol, thought I made it more convoluted than that but I missed that detail. I rather not have that get submitted as it is now; I might have to rework it. As for Descending Cores ok I'll set it to medium

  @Yggdrasill4: welcome back and thanks for submitting new levels. Your levels are nice and fun to play, I have started their evaluation and I would like to add a few comments:
- Descending Cores (BLockoban) is far to be easy, I would rather suggest medium.
- Golden Angle (BLockoban) is very easy. I solved it in 9 moves, maybe this solution wasn't intended. You can keep it as is, but change the category to easy.
- I have to make sure that each level is possible before accepting it. It would help me if you could save a score on your medium and hard levels, otherwise it might take time before I find a solution.

@john96:
- Red Saucer (BLockoban) is much too easy (only 6 straightforward moves), even for kids, and the 2 dummy white blocks are useless. I put it to be edited. Please note that there are already more than 1300 kids levels, and probably no more kid playing BB. Therefore, it is not really useful to create new ones.
- Eight Yellow (BLockoban) is still pink. As said in a previous post, the level itself is nice but it needs a good thumbnail. Just retake the thumbnail and I will accept it.

  Hey guys, guess what? I solved 1500 levels so far for this game. I do want to get the High Mile 5000 award someday.

  Yes, I agree Dynamo. What about you Nelson and the rest. BL is supposed to be a chill place for us when we work hard everyday with our daily lives and families. I hope this Thanksgiving everyone will enjoy meals with their family members.

EDIT: Me and my mom/family will be going on a trip to South Carolina from November 22-29th to enjoy the holidays so I will be inactive for a little bit. Hope to be back around November 28th. Take care, I uploaded enough levels for a week. Enjoy them.

  @magna, I say this sincerely, please remember that this is just a game - a virtually dead game. If something this insignificant in the grand scheme of things that we call life angers you so much, then it is clear that you have much deeper issues that you should deal with first. Please don't take out your anger on a few good people just trying to get by, who are simply trying to enjoy what remains of this website while they still can. I recommend that you do the same.

  That's great news to hear. My page is back to normal too. I guess it was really no point in contacting JP because the issue has already been fixed. Now I can check my daily progress here and change my password weekly.

  Good news, Chris! I have found how to fix my home page :)

Apparently, only my page, yours, Suhangha’s and Suhangha-2's were corrupted. I have opened many others, all of them were displayed without any error. Therefore, I tried to find the common point between our respective pages. Suddenly I thought about Universter (the game being developed by Suhangha). I remembered you put it like me in your favorite games. I decided to remove it from my favorites and surprisingly it worked. I believe that Suhangha has modified something in his game that prevents the link from working and causes an error.

The process is very simple:
- launch universter: Game Universter
- click on "Remove from favorites"
- open your home page

  I think this is just another step in the degradation of BL. This isn’t really the start either. Time will tell.

  The bad thing about it is that I can't edit my page anymore, I can't change my password, or change my e-mail. So I don't know how to fix it and JP still hasn't contacted me about it, I messaged him on Twitter about a week ago.

@Nelson and the rest of the community: What are your thoughts on it. Could this be the start of BL crumbling slowly. I mean it's over a decade old.

  Thank you nelson for evaluating my recent levels, I was afraid because of the glitches that you would miss them in your admin tab. I will make more later on today, so be looking out for them.

I guess oldmanrob got tired of BL? He's been gone for 4 years now, I think last time he was here was late 2018 into 2019.

  I did make some new levels Wednesday or Thursday, idk if you saw them yet. What does anyone else have to say about these weird bugs on BL?

  I think the best thing would be to message somewhere public from now on that an updated level is ready to be evaluated. At least until JP fixes it if he does.

  Not exactly, I can still evaluate levels for now (but for how long? if the website continues to degrade ...). For newly created levels, I only need to start the game and check the "evaluated" tab, it's just a bit more cumbersome. The problem concerns the updated levels, because they aren't at the beginning of the list, and I won't see that they are ready to evaluate.

  So, that means you can't evaulate anymore future levels? Hmmm, well I hope this day has not come but you know this site is reaching it's 15th year so anything could go wrong. See JP may not be interested in fixing it, I sent him a message on Discord the other day and he has not responded.

  Chris, this bug is even more annoying for me, because:
- I can no longer exchange PMs with you and suhangha, the main level designers.
- I have no access to my admin board with the recently created and updated levels. It means that I won't be informed when a designer completes an unfinished level.

If this problem is not fixed, I will not be able to do my admin duty properly. I am fearing that this site (at least BB and BB2 games) will soon be completely dead.
Let's see what other players think of that.

  Well I don't know what the issue is but it's bugging me, now I can't track my status on my profile page. It's crazy! But this site has reached it's 15-year peak.

  My homepage is fine, it must be a strange glitch or something. I don't know if JP would even take the time to look at this issue.

  Hi Chris, the same issue occurs with my home page and that of suhangha (maybe others). I get the following error message:

  Hey, there is something wrong with my page. When I click on my name, it says error and it gives a link, nelson's page does it too. JP needs to look at this.

  So, how has everyone been doing lately. October is coming soon. I'm thinking about making some Halloween styled levels here in a couple weeks.

  I remember one of Suhangha's best series here back in 2019. The Lightly Prairie series. It consists of farm/prairie levels with superb design. Most of them are kids and easy levels, they are fun for everyone in all ages, and good for an optimization challenge. I have cracked some good highscores there if anyone wants a challenge!

I am making so many levels here now that I will most likely surpass CD's flood/wave of levels that were created here.
