You must register or log in to post a message.![]() To sum it up it is always better to count on the responsibility of all designers to work hard on their levels and make them challenging, fun, unique before uploading rather than give them the right to re-edit after. I feel for OMG and all other admins who really have to work on hundreds of levels every day. Nice job buddy. ![]() The only reason I mentioned trusted members being added was to give category pack designers access for editing. But jp really likes the idea of category packs and will add a link on the game page for them when they are created. @Jyxz Opening any level to multiple random editing would only cause chaos because two players could switch it back and forth multiple times due to personal preference. That is why we have a limited number of administrators and a to be edited category. I realize all levels are not for all players, and there are many levels that I prefer not to spend extra time on. We do however, need to keep the variety there for all the players. If you or anyone else ever feels the levels should not be accepted please feel free to PM me and I would be more than happy to work out a solution because this site does along to all of us. ![]() @lmr you have a point, but sometimes I run into the problem of where my own capabilities for solving blur the lines between how hard I think a level is and how hard it actually is...so sometimes experience can be deceiving. :) Most of them want to be trusted members I think just as a personal achievement, as a way to show that they're "good enough" at Blockoban to be trusted. My point is you should all stop whining and going on about becoming TM's. If you created levels correctly in the first place you wouldn't need to edit them afterwards!!!!!!! By the time one is able to create levels, you should have enough experience to set the difficulty level. Based on similar levels. Think about it!!! By the way I really don't like the recent plethora of copy-cat levels. Look at Pa's level #10668 'Tribute to new award' That is only one I remember the name of the original, as an example of what I am talking about. I think that might not work though, seeing as people often will disagree about categories, etc. But it's a good idea :) @Jyxz maybe call it "Optimization" rather than acknowledged? :P Yes, that might be a good idea, I too prefer the fun and challenge of solving those concise, tricky levels, rather than the challenge of cutting down as much as possible on my move count. Although I disagree with the edit....it shouldn't be ANYONE, even if they were editable, and I think trusted members are a good idea for just making life easier for OMG. :) ![]() edit: I think there should be a 250th official level, because it's a more round and less scaring number. Edit: Anyone should be able to edit acknowledged levels until are refined enough to be accepted... then accepted levels I think shouldn't be allowed to be edited at all, trusted or not. So I was trying to make it to <1000 levels unsolved, while oldmtnguy was accepting new levels! I had to work hard to solve faster then he could accept them. =) | Games forum

I was not saying that other people should be able to edit levels I was saying I think SINCE there are no more official levels we need a new category. Honestly I think everyone knows not all levels are created equally so I was saying we need some way to allow people to refine levels while other people can solve them and if a level is really good it needs "acknowledgement". This is also really important to me since I have limited time to play but I really don't want to miss out on the levels that are REALLY REALLY good because there are a lot of meh levels. But I know as it is its unfair to say dont accept the meh levels cause there are plenty of people who want to solve levels I consider too easy and often tedious. For example I think we would both agree that Murat and Toughman are on a whole different level when it comes to level creating but niether of them have an "official" level. Is this because they are poor designers? No it's because JP decided no more official levels because he doesn't want to scare off new players, which while completely reasonable leaves us the now much larger community in a jam. I know it would be work for JP but I think this is why a new category between accepted and official, Acknowledged is necessary. I hope I made my point more clear. My idea has nothing at all to do with trusted members and I know where you are coming from on that, why on earth would people want to be a trusted member anyway? I guess I am but I have never had to use the powers I suppose. Anyway thanks and sorry for being lengthy.
